Pancit Bihon recipe
Pancit Bihon recipe |
Pancit is a noodle which is one of the most popular noodle in the Philippines and you can see many varieties of Pancit wherever you go. This is usually served in different occasions such as birthdays, weddings and other kinds of special events.
Do you know that Pancit was brought and introduced by Chinese along with Congee? Pancit is derived from the Hokkien “ pian i sit “ which means convenient food. Also, it is a belief in the Philippines that if you want to have a long life you shouldn’t cut the noodles when cooking it since noodles represent long life and good health.
A lot of Filipinos served this during New Year’s eve because of that belief. This belief is still practiced by some Filipinos and we inherited this from our neighborhood who are Chinese.
